Neli Georgieva

Neli Georgieva is a research associate at EPRC. She holds a BA in European Studies from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridrski in Bulgaria, with law and economics profile, and a double MSc in European Spatial Planning and Regional Development obtained from Radboud University in the Netherlands, and Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. Her research interests relate to innovation systems and regional and territorial development.

Neli gained expertise in EU Macro-regional Strategies at City of Vienna, as part of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) Priority Area 10 where her work was dedicated on activities promoting institutional capacity and cooperation. She acquired experience working with regional authorities across Europe as part of a Brussels-based network, where her work focused on building inter-regional cooperation and facilitating knowledge exchange in the field of regional industrial modernisation, bioeconomy and smart specialisation.
