Yizhao Du is a new PhD candidate in the section of Spatial Planning and Strategy, supervised by Dr. Roberto Rocco and Dr. Rodrigo Cardoso. He holds a B. Eng in Urban and Rural Planning (Distinction) and graduated with M. Sc. in Architecture, Urbanism, and Building Sciences (Cum Laude) at the Delft University of Technology in June 2021. Searching in the field of urban planning in the past 7 years, he has several research interests involving Urban Regeneration, Environmental Technology, Urban (and Rural) Sustainability, Urban Industrial Transformation, and Regional Study. As a Ph. D. candidate in TU Delft, he will focus on the regional development and secondary cities in China, towards regional sustainability by exploring the potential and opportunities of secondary cities in China’s regional system.
