I am delighted to be able to report that this book project, on which I have reported before has been accepted. All being well it will come out before the end of this year with Edgar Elgar, a publisher in the United Kingdom.

The title refers to my concern about territorialism encapsulating all of us in what John Agnew has called the ‘territorial trap.’ This trap determines who we are, where we belong to and to whom we owe allegiance. It is a decisive factor in politics, including international relations and, of course, planning.

The title of the book I draw from an article published in 2016 in ‘disp – The Planning Review.’ As I explain there, in choosing this tile, I have drawn inspiration from a book by Karl Popper on ‘The Poverty of Historicism,’

We have had a good discussion on the outlines of this book only a little more than a week ago.
